NARROW WIN OVER SWIFTS
Seatoun ousted Swjtts from the A.ulu Cup, but only just; and it is not very often that the seasiders are pressed so hard and consistently as they were in the second naif. The Swifts forwards and halves were fast, and they wore all triers Si-atmin iiau muro opportunities In the first naif, but twenty-five minutes passed before they scored the only goal ot the match. High shooting was the main reason for early failures, and In the •second hall isolated breakaways were t lie principal avenues ot attack True, a second goal was notched by Seatoun (disallowed for offside play), but Swifts, in the second half, struck line form rtnd kept Seatoun backs and halves oij theii toes Individual play was often of v high standard, but combination on both sides was « little disjointed possibly liecause of the tackiness of the turf, Seatoun were right out for quick results, and tho first quarter of an hour was hectic for Swifts. It was after Swifts' counterattack that Kendall, Seatoun's outside-left, slammed across a tint centre, which Tanner, Inside-left, drove home Swifts attacked strongly towards the close ot the luilt, auo were in the ascendancy for most of the second spell. The .core, however, remained at: Seatoun 1, Swifts 0. The referee was Mr. B, J. McQueen.
