FORMAL AUTHORITY

The granting of formal authority to the Minister of Finance to declare the New Zealand Government Stock of nominal value £17,172,190 lls 4d convertible into new securities is notified in the Gazette. The notice recites the following: "And whereas the Government of New Zealand is prepared to undertake to make available in London out of funds accrued, accruing, and to accrue from exports from the Dominion or otherwise sufficient British sterling to repay by instalments as and when due in accordance with the terms of issue all securities issued upon such conversion as is hereinbefore authorised. . . .'*
