A WESTERN COLLEGE?
(To the Editor.) Sir,—l have been hoping some other parent would endorse the remarks of your correspondent "Old Boy," in reference to the proposed new college at Rongotai. As the mother of three jsons who spent much time travelling ito college from a western suburb of | Wellington. I know a college for boys, ! on the northern or western side of the ! town, would be a great boon and adS vantage to present-day scholars. Much | time is wasted in travelling the long distances at present necessary. During the winter months there are many days whep it is impossible for the boys to walk part of the journey to offset the discomfort of a cold and lengthy tram ride. Surely there is still suitable land available in the northern or western districts. The boys on the eastern side of the city are already well provided with colleges, and no opposition would come from their parents. If this subject were brought before the notice of our member for Wellington Suburbs, lam sure it would not fail to enlist a sympathetic interest—l am, etc., REASONABLE.
