APPRENTICE'S CLAIM
JURY VISITS FACTORY
The hearing of a claim by Douglas Arthur William Brewer, a letterpress machinist apprentice, against the Em-' pire Printing and Box Manufacturing Co., Ltd., was continued in the Supreme Court today before the Chief Justice (Sir Michael Myers") and a jury o_*.twelve. Brewer claimed £Vffilßft 64 dam" ages as the result of 7S:£**f~t___2 thumb and one finger of his left han&'in an accident with a platen-cutting machine in the factory of the defendant company in Douglas Street. Each side alleged negligence against the other.
Evidence for the plaintiff was finished yesterday afternoon, and witnesses were called for the company. The jury visited the factory to inspect the machine.
Mr. O. C. Mazengarb and Mr. W. E. Leicester conducted the plaintiff's case, and Mr. W. Perry and Mr. R. E. Pope that of the company. The hearingnte proceeding.
