The "Sydney Morning Herald" points out that Homeric was the third son -jf Quadrilateral to break a leg His fullbrother. Homer, met with bis accident a few days after dead-heating in the A.J.C. Derby, and his half-brother, Rob Roy, broke a leg during a training gailop in Melbourne, but he was saved for the stud. Homeric, who cost 1900 guineas, was not insured.
After a month's spell Hunter's Eve is again in work at Hastings under the direction of trainer C. J. Stowe. This filly has brilliant speed, but so far luck has not been on her side, as she is always getting into the wars. With no further interruption in her train ing this rising four-year-old may proye as good a sprinter as there is in Hawke's Bay.
