INVERCARGILL, This Day,

Southland is . experiencing wintry snaps. Snow was fairly general throughout the province last night and this morning. The fall averaged fourto five inches in depth, with about an inch in InvercargilJ.

The only road, service disorganised is that between Queenstown and Invercargill, due to a heavy fall of snow in the high country.

It is reported from Garston • and Athol that the fall is exceptionally heavy, the depth there being-18 inches.

The train service from Invercargill and the train services in tho various districts are not interrupted.
