LESS NOISY HORNS

MOTOR TRADE AGREEMENT

RUGBY, July 19.

As a result of an agreement reached with the Minister of Supply, Mr. Leslie Burgin, manufacturers of motor horns will limit the noise output of horns in future:

. An undertaking has been given to the Minister that after October 1 the manufacturers will not offer for sale instruments with a loudness, under specified conditions of test, exceeding 100 phons, except in. the case of the wind-driven type of instrument, for which the figure is to be 105 phons. Vehicle manufacturei's will co-operate by fitting only horns that comply with the agreed standard.
