HUTT DEFEATED

Petone bad a comfortable win of 13-li against Jutt at the Hutt Recreation Ground, but play generally was not as one-sided as the score might indicate. Tn the first half Petone put plenty of go into their game, aud with the exception of ono or to rushes by their opponents kept play confined to Hutt territory, scoring two converted tries to an unconverted try by Hutt. Showing more pace and initiative in the second half, the Hutt backs evened up play, but though they were close to scoring several times they found the .leeway too great. Tries were scored for Petone by Haddy and O'Halloran, Ashton. aud Ryan converting. Ashton also kicked a penalty goal. D. AA'lggins scored two tries for Hutt.

The referee was Mr. A. M. Fletcher.
