DECREASED OUTPUT
(By Telegraph—Press Association.) TE AROHA, This Day. The Tatuanui Co-operative Dairy Co. this season manufactured 888 tons of cheese, a 14 per cent, decrease on last year. The average pay-out is 18.110 d per lb, against 16.7598 d; in 1938. A dividend of 2J per cent, on capital is also declared.
Other reductions in outputs reported include Cambridge Co-operative Dairy Company. Butterfat handled by this company for the season just ended showed a decline of 3.7 per cent, over the previous season. The butter output of 1626 tons was 15 tons, or .92 per cent., less than the previous year. The output of cheese was 1786 tons, a reduction of 133/ tons on the previous season, which represents a fall in production of cheese of 6.93 per cent. The board recommended that no interest on share capital be paid. Bruhtwood Dairy Company, with 713 tons of cheese, was down 75 tons on •last season's output. Owing to the adverse conditions for dairying experienced during the past season the production of butter by the factories of the Heretaunga Cooperative Company at Hastings and Waipukurau showed a decrease of 300 tons when compared with the previous season.
