FATE OF YACHT

CHATHAM ISLANDS ANXIETY

A radlc* *ixessage received by the Director-General of the Post Office this morning from the superintendent of the Chatham Islands i-adio station, stated that the captain of the trawler South Sea reported that the yacht Faith, with a crew of three, left the trawler on the north coast late on Saturday night during a west-south-west to westerly gale, and had not yet returned. Land patrols were seax-ching the coast in the proximity of the trawler's position. Continuous radio connection was being made with the South Sea," and a warning had been bx-oadcast to shipping to keep a look-out for the yacht.

The message was timed as being sent from Chatham Islands at 9.54 a.m. today.
