"FOOLISH ACTION"
A MINER FINED

GREYMOUTH, This Day,
In the Magistrate's Court today Thomas Brown was fined £3 for damaging a safety lamp issued to him in the Dobson Mine. Counsel for the company said that Brown was seen tampering with the lamp. The safety of over 100 men was endangex-ed as a, result of the defendant's foolish action.
Mr. H. Ferner, S.M., described the offence as serious. He could not remember dealing, with a similar case.
