(By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright.)
(Received July 6, 1.10 p.m.)
TOKIO, July 5. The conference regarding the Tientsin concession dispute is not expected to open before next week at the earliest. In the meantime the blockade at Tientsin continues and vilification of. Britain in North China has been intensified in the Japanese-controlled Press. The British Ambassador, Sir Robert Craigie, stated that he is optimistic of the outcome of the conference and that no problems are incapable of being solved if they are approached in a spirit of good will. If forceful tactics were employed, he said, a solution would-be impossible and might lead to a catastrophe. Sir Robert Craigie stated that Britain is entering the negotiations on the assumption that indignities are being discontinued.
