COMMUNITY SINGING
OPENING OF 1939 SEASON
A large crowd assembled in the Town Hall at lunch time today for the opening of the 1939 community singing season. The Mayor (Mr. T. C. A. Hislop) was present, and the song leaders were Messrs. Will Mason and Charles Proctor. Mr. H. F. (Tony) Wood was guest artist, Mr. Frank Crowther was at the piano, and Mr. Chas. Collins at the organ.
The Mayor's Metropolitan Relief Fund received £7 17s 4d as a result of the gathering.
