The Franco-Turkish Pact has been signed. - ' • • < \ ; The signatories agree to help each other-in case of an act of aggression which might lead to war in the Mediterranean. / France affirms her intention of maintaining her mandatory position ■/ in Syria. France 'and Turkey recognise that' it is necessary to assure the establishment of security in the, Balkans and will consult to attain this goal as rapidly as - possible. Inhabitants of "The Hatay" not wishing to accept Turkish sovereignty, are given six months in which to apply for Syrian or Ledanese nationality. If they do not apply they must leave "The Hatay" and sell their property within eighteen months.
