LOWER HUTT COURT
Offences against the traffic regulations were dealt with in the Lower Hutt Court yesterday by Mr. A. M. Goulding, S.M. Norman Reade, Roy Arrowsmith, and Lewis McCleary were each fined £2 10s and costs, and Olaf James Hall and John Phillips £2 and costs each for exceeding the speed limit in restricted areas. For failing to give way to traffic approaching from the right. Alexander Sutherland was fined 10s and costs, and Kenneth W. Smith was convicted and ordered to pay costs. Rhys Evans was fined £1 and costs for riding a bicycle without a light. For crossing Melling Bridge when another car was on it. Jack Devany was convicted and ordered to pay costs. Failure to produce warrants of fitness for their vehicles cost Lewis McCleary 10s and costs. Norman Thomas Lomath 5s and cost's, and William Hector McKinnon 2s 6d and.costs. Lomath was also fined £1 and costs for driving without a licence. A fine of 10s and costs was imposed on Alan Cyrus Brockelsby for driving without due care and attention. Driving in a manner that might have been dangerous cost Alfred Gordon Cook £3 and costs. Dr. R. S. R. Francis (Otaki) is in England to study recent developments in tuberculosis, especially as regards the sphere of surgical intervention in this complaint, states "The Post's" London correspondent. During the Whitsun weekend he went to Glasgow to visit the Bridge of Weir Sanatorium and meet. Dr. Crocket, a chest specialist, in Glasgow who has a brother at Bulls. Dr. Francis is anticipating a month on tbe Continent, visiting Switzerland, France, Belgium, Denmark, and Norway.
