FIRE STATION YARD

The drill yard behind the Central Fire Station in Clyde Quay, the improvement of which is a subject which has been under consideration for some time, is to be paved, and the intention is to. put the work in hand as soon as possible. At today's meeting of the Wellington Fire Board it was decided to instruct the board's architects. Messrs. Mitchell and Mitchell, to call for tenders for the work. j"I think the sooner we get on with this yard the better," said the chairman (Mr. S. S. Dean). "It is in a shocking condition.- and I think ' we should get ahead with the job."
