PLAYERS TO TRAIN
ASSOCIATION GAME
CHALLENGE FOR F.A. TROPHY
Twenty-rtwo first A division Association football players have been selected' by the Wellington Football Association's selectors (Messrs. A. J. Costelloe, M. H. Webley, andW. J. Hodge) to' go into training for Wellington's challenge match against the winners of the F.A. Trophy game to be played between Auckland and Otago, the holders, at Dunedin, next Saturday. Wellington's game .will probably be set down for two or three weeks later.
The players to train are as -follows: —
Goalkeepers: Turkington (Marist) and S. Ward (Waterside).
Full-backs: Salisbury . (Swifts), Haines (Petone),. K. Yeoman (Seatoun), and B. Yeoman (Seatoun).
Halves: Hindle (Marist), Reid (Petone), Boyes (Seatoun), Chapman (Swifts), Nicol (Diamond), and C. MacGregor (Swifts). :
Forwards: Edmunds (Seatoun), Haley (Petone), R. Quirke (Marist), Walker (Waterside), R. Ward (Waterside), Leslie (Petone), Woods (Petone), Craig (Petone), Hickmott (Swifts), and Longbottom (Waterside).
The players are to train every Monday night at the Institute gymnasium under the direction of the association coach, Mr. J. R. Sheffield.
