AIR-RAID LECTURES

Last evening, in the Garrison Hall lecture room, representatives of the Polic^ Department, Fire Board, St. John Ambulance, Hospital Board, Red Cross Association, and the Wellington City Council were given the third of a series of addresses o&i air raid precautions by officers of the 2nd Field Company, New Zealand Engineers, the lecturer being Lieutenant V. L. Connolly, and the aspect discussed being methods of gas attack from the air, It was stated, in conclusion, that a knowledge of gases, of the action to be taken in the everat of contamination, and the promptness with which such work was carried out, would afford the average citizen in New Zealand a greater degree of safety than he could expect in the hazards of crossing a busy metropolitan;thoroughfare.
