The extensive and complex disturbance which has been over the Tasman Sea for several days is now moving on to Jlie Dominion, and is deepening. The main centre of low pressure is to the west of Southland, but another important one is located to the north. Gradually freshening north-east winds have prevailed, and have reached gale force in South Westland and in exposed positions in the far north. During the night a change to strong northern es has advanced froth the north to beyond Auckland/ Dull, mild, and humid weather has prevailed, and there was considerable dense fog yesterday in the Cook Strait area. Rain has been practically general, but the falls have been only light and intermittent except in the extreme north and in parts of Kelson and Westland. TODAY'S WEATHER.
