TOWN HALL BOXING.

On Thursday the Wellington Boxing Association will conduct a professional welterweight contest, between Don Johnston, of Auckland, and Barney Down, of Wellington. * Johnston made his Wellington, debut in the first bout of the local season, and after an entertaining bout took a points decision from the accomplished Aucklander Vic Caltaux. Down, an attractive and hard-hitting boxer, has conducted quite an extensive campaign in other Dominion centres during the past couple of seasons, and last year beat Caltaux when the latter was at the top of his form. Both are boxers in the true sense of the term, but they are very fast and pack heavy punches. Some first-class amateur preliminaries have been arranged. Particulars are advertised.
