WAIKATO BLOODSTOCK SALE

There was a good clearance at last Friday's sale of thoroughbred stock conducted by G. W. Vercoe and Co., Ltd., at Hamilton. Prices ranged to 370 guineas, and the sum of £1659 was paid by purchasers. There was a large attendance. The sale was the first of its kind held in the Waikato for ten years. Top price, 370 guineas, was paid for the mare Dv Barry, by Chief Ruler —Jenolan, offered on behalf of Sir Ernest Davis and Mr. R. T. Reid, the latter being the buyer. The same venders sold an Iliad —Dv Barry filly to Mrs. Murdoch Smith, Auckland, for 215 guineas.
