A MIRACULOUS ESCAPE

An alarming accident happened near the^ end of the race for the Chester Vase, at the Chester Meeting early this month, says "The Post's" London representative. An Apple a Day, who was among the backmarkers at the time, came down heavily, and his rider, Cliff Richards, seemed to be badly hurt, but in some miraculous way he escaped with a severe shaking. The horse was finishing very leg weary and the accident had nothing to do with the eccentricities of the course nor with any other runner in the race.
