FIVE BOYS ESCAPE
SERIES OF CRIMES FOLLOW

Five boys escaped from the Weraroa Training Farm at about 6.15 oh Saturday night. Their disappearance was followed by a series of events which must be attributed to persons with little regard for other people's property. , A car belonging to Mr. E. Webber, Levin, shortly afterwards reported' missing, was recovered in charge of two of the boys at Hawera yesterday. It is understood thai the other three boys headed across country. The Poroutawhao Hall was broken into, sugar and the contents of essence bottles being strewn over the floor, which was -also littered with broken crockery. An unsuccessful attempt was made to start a car in a nearby garage. Subsequently, it was reported that three bicycles were missing from Foxton. Last night the Revs' Father Jensen's light saloon car disappeared from the precincts of St. Patrick's Church Presbytery, Palmerston North. The three boys are still at large.
