EXHIBITION TIME

SPORTS ATTRACTIONS

LIST OF FIXTURES

The schedule of sports fixtures worthy of championship contests or other special attractions, which it is proposed to hold in Wellington during the Exhibition period indicates that Wellington people and visitors to the city will have much to interest them in this field of entertainment. Many of the national associations will be holding their championship events here, and most of them contemplate inviting some overseas competitors to the Dominion.

The committee which was set up to co-ordinate the dates submitted by the national associations met last week, and a list of the fixtures has now been issued. There are two or three clashes of dates, as will be observed from the list, but the main ones concern the -athletic and cycling championships. At present the Wellington provincial athletic championships meeting is scheduled for February 24, the date of the New Zealand Brass Bands Association quickstep event. Similarly, there is a clashing of dates for the national track cycling championships and the national track and field athletic championships, both set down for" March 8 and 9.
