WOMAN KILLED
PETONE RESIDENT
CAR OUT OF CONTROL
(By Telegraph.) (Special to the "Evening Post.") j MASTERTON, This Day. A Petone resident, Mrs. Edith Annie Ferguson, of 25 Priest Street, was killed on Saturday night near Greytown when a car left the road and! overturned. The accident-, occurred at about 6 p.m. It appears that the. car, which was driven by William Henry , J^elham, . t of, 122 Tasman^Stre^t,, ,;'W,eI T -! region," got out .of 'control, and' fell uver a bank, coming to rest on;, its right-hand side and facing the opposite direction to that in which it was travelling. Mrs. Ferguson was the only passenger. She received severe chest and head. injuries. Mr. Welham suffered injuries to his chest and ribs and, after receiving medical attention, was taken to the Greytown Hospital.
An inquest was opened yesterday, and after evidence of identification had been given, was adjourned sine die.
