NATIONAL TRANSPORT
IN AN EMERGENCY
FULL SUPPORT OF A.A.
The statement of the Minister of Transport (th§ Hon. R. Semple) on the organisation of road transport, to ensure its smooth and efficient functioning in the event of a national emergency, has the full support and co-operation of the Automobile Association (Wellington).
Following the Minister's statement published on April 6, the chairman of the executive of the association (Mr, E. A. Batt) sentgfche following message to Mr, Semple:—" ' I have just read your statement and proposal for organising national transport in the event of emergency, and as an expression of appreciation and desire to co-operate with you in this very necessary undertaking, I, on behalf of this organisation of 11,000 members, offer you our wholehearted support. The action of Mr. Batt was endorsed at a meeting of the executive of the association last'^evening.
