TOKIO, May 2.
Following an earthquake in the Akita Prefecture, Northern Japan, yesterday in which it is stated that 26 persons were killed and 33 injured, in addition to thousands of houses being destroyed, later reports say that a tidal wave at the village of Aikawa, on the north shore of' Ojika Peninsula, washed seventy houses out to sea, killing seven persons and injuring scores, while many are missing. Recurring after-shocks terrorised the residents of the Prefecture throughout the night, and many are camping out, fearing further shocks.
