PIGEON RACING
Flying from Taihape, an airline distance of 115 miles, in 3hr 3min 48sec, Mr. D. Andrews's bird registered a velocity of 1240.3 yds per minute, and won the thirteenth race of the 1939 young birds' programme carded by the Hutt Valley Homing Pigeon Club. The success gained by the winner was his second this season. Official velocities and placings are as follows:—Mr. D.
