WHERE IS THE THREAT?
BRITAIN'S INTEREST
GAYDA CAN SEE NONE
(Independent Cable Service.)
(Received April 12, 11.30 a.m.)
ROME, April 11. Signor Virginio Gayda, writing in the "Giornale d'ltalia," says:—
"One cannot see how Italy's occupation of Albania should upset the Mediterranean situation. One cannot see where is the threat to Britain's vital interests."
Signor Gayda refers to Gibraltar as Spanish territory and Malta as Italian soil. "Should there be. by some illconsidered decision, an attempt to bar the road mapped out by Italy," he says, "she will calmly consider such an unjust reaction in its true significance and take the necessary steps to oppose it."
