LABOUR PARTY

MR. J. G. BARCLAY, VICE-PF-=:SIDENT

Mr. J. G. Barclay, M.P., was re-elect-ed vice-president of the New Zealand Labour Party yesterday afternoon after a ballot in which there were twenty-one candidates. The Hon. D. Wilson, M.L.C., was re-elected national secretary and treasurer. There were two candidates.

The Prime Minister (the Rt. Hon. M J. Savage) was present when the conference resumed in the afternoon and again received an ovation.

The ballot for memberr of the national executive resident in Wellington will be taken today, but the result will not be known till Thursday or Friday, because there are 44 candidates for the five vacant positions.
