MR. MOUNTJOY FAREWELLED
Mr. W. J. Mountjoy, secretary of the Wellington Master Butchers' Industrial Union of Employers, who will leave by the Wanganella tomorrow night en route for the International Labour Con. ference at Geneva, was last night entertained at a farewell gathering by the union. The president, Mr. W. Tunley, extended to Mr. Mountjoy the best wishes of the retail butchers of Wellington and the Hutt Valley, and said it had been felt that they could not let such an occasion pass without some tangible token of appreciation of the service Mr. Mountjoy had rendered them during the past nine years.
Mr. Tunley asked Mr. Mountjoy to accept a pair of binoculars in a leather case as a small token of their appreciation.
Messrs. J. Rod, E. D. Barber, and G. Lamb also spoke in appreciative terms and wished Mr. Mountjoy bon voyage.
Mr. Mountjoy, in reply, thanked the members of the union for the kindly thought which had prompted the gift.
