KIWI ATHLETIC CLUB
In defeating the Marlborough Athletic Club in the annual contest for the O'Leary Trophy at Blenheim, the Kiwi Athletic 'Club, of Wellington, topped off the best season in the club's history. The active membership of the club this year is a record. There were 35 of the club's strongest representatives in the team which went to Blenheim and they proved too good for the Marlborough athletes. Members of the Kiwi Club were successful in winning all the sprint races, both senior and junior, at the Wellington athletic championships, and with Colin Robinson's fine efforts at Napier, the Kiwis can now be proud of their season's activities, writes a member of the club. In the women's section two members, Miss Mahoney and Miss Walshe, won championship honours. . Mrs. Killeen, who is in charge of this section, has several young girls in training who are showing definite promise. The last club training night at Hataitai Park was held on Wednesday. The Kiwis will close their season with the annual social function on Saturday.
