NEW STEAMER
KUROW DUE SUNDAY
On her maiden voyage from Glasgow to Wellington via the Panama Canal, the Union Steam Ship Company's new cargo vessel Kurow has advised by radio that she expects to arrive at Wellingt'/i on Sunday. The Kurow left. Glasgow on February 2, and has made good time on the voyage in spite of extremely bad weather experienced in the North Atlantic. A single-screw steamer of 3850 tons gross, the Kurow is designed for a service speed of 12 knots. Her hull is of the arcform type, a design adopted in her sister-ship the Komata and in the Waipori, the two most recent additions to the company's fleet. Her cargo gear conforms to the most modern standards >r efficient loading and discharging and is similar to that ! installed on the Komata. She was built Iby Alexander Stephen and Sons,! Ltd., of Glasgow, to plans and specifications prepared, as is customary, by the company's technical staff in Wellington. The Kurow is under the command of Captain M.
