DUST INEVITABLE
WATERLOO QUAY JOB
Waterloo Quay during its reconstruction is reminiscent of the old macadam days, when clouds of dust used to sweep through the city in dry, windy weather. Complaints have been received from the waterfront, but there is very little that can be done about it. The dust is caused by the big job in hand. Water carts are impossible under the circumstances, as if they were put on the work would have to stop, and it is urgent. In the course of a few months a fine, dustless road will be finished.
Ramsey Wilson Ltd., auctioneers, 98 Manners Street, will sell furniture, a piano, etc., at their auction rooms, at 1.30 p.m. tomorrow.
The Matua went on the floating dock this morning for cleaning and painting. She will probably come off the dock tomorrow.
