CITY RATES

Yesterday was a busy one in the City Rates Office, £20,000 of current rates being paid in. At the present progress it is expected that a further £10,000 will be paid today. Some £100,000 still remains to be collected. From tomorrow morning there will remain only two and a half days in which rates can be paid in without incurring tl - 10 per cent, penalty.
