COMPENSATION FOR WIDOW

In the Arbitration Court this morning the Wellington City Council coni sented to judgment for the payment of £1000 as compensation, and £21 12s 6d as funeral expenses, to Esther Elizabeth Liddy and her two children. Mr. F. W. Ongley appeared for Mrs. Liddy, and Mr. J. O'Shea for the City Council. Mrs. Liddy's claim arose from the death' of her husband, Frederick Charles Liddy, during blasting operations at Moa Point on September 27, 1938. Costs, £10 10s, were allowed.
