PETONE FIRE BOARD

A meeting of the Petone Fire Board was held yesterday afternoon. There were present Mr. G. London (chairman) and Messrs. C. W. Miller, L. Monkman, and James Kerr.

Mr. Kerr, who has taken the place of his father, the late Mr. James Kerr, as Government member, was welcomed by the chairman, who said it was a gracious act on the part of the Government to appoint a son of the late member.

Mr. Kerr, in his reply, said he appreciated the compliment.

The treasurer's statement was adopted, the chairman stating that the board's position was satisfactory. In his report the superintendent stated that there had been no serious fires and the conduct of the brigade was satisfactory.
