RETIRING OFFICER
LONG SERVICE WITH BANK
Mr. H. I. Thodey, attorney and inspector for New Zealand of the Bank of Australasia since July, 1932, whose retirement on April 10 is announced, has served the Bank of Australasia for 44 years since, he joined the Port Melbourne branch.,
After service in Melbourne, Suburbs, Corowa, New South Wales, and in the North Eastern District of Victoria he was transferred to Christchurch in 1900, appointed accountant at Napier in 1907, Gisborne in 1908, Auckland 1910-20. After 22 months' management at Invercargill Mr. Thodey was appointed a sub-inspector for over three years when, in 1925, he was appointed manager at Gisborne, holding that post until July, 1932, since when he has filled the office from which he is about to retire.
Mr. Thodey will be succeeded by Mr. E. A. Cameron, who has been manager of the Auckland branch of the bank since 1936. Mr. R. G. Bennett, accountant at the Auckland branch, will succeed Mr. Cameron as manager.
