NEW SCOTTISH SOCIETY

LEVIN, February 12,

A largely-attended meeting of native-born and colonial Scots at Levin decided unanimously to form a.'Scottish Society and also a pipe band. A committee representative of the whole Horowhenua district was elected. Mr. A. M. Colquhoun was chosen chief of the clans (pro tern), and Pipe-Major A. Yorston was given charge of the pipe band, a nucleus of which is already in existence. Band practice is to commence immediately.
