(By Telegraph.) (Special to the "Evening Post.") I CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. ] The programme for the two days of the C.J.C. Autumn Meeting was approved yesterday by the committee of j the Canterbury Jockey Club. The stakes have been increased by £250, this extra amount being divided among three races. ..The Sdc^burn Handicap, 9 furlongs, on the first day has been raised from £400 t0,£500 to provide another .adequate attraction-be-! sides the Great Autumn Handicap for the stayers. Similarly the Templeton Handicap> 6 furlongs, .on- the", second day has gone .up from £400' to" £.500 to make a worthy complement -for 7the sprinters after, the .Great. Ea>ter Handicap. The other, alteration in the stakes is in the second day's Addington Handicap; 9 furlongs, which . has been increased from £300 to £350.
The conditions-of the Courtenay and the Yaldhurst Handicaps,1. of 6 and 7 furlongs respectively, have. :been altered. Formerly they were open to horses that at the time of starting' had not won a race of the value of £50 to the -winner, but this year they will be
restricted to maddens
