WEATHER AFFECTS MARKET
Owing to cold wtr_tner trade on the London frozen lamb market is rather slow, and prices ,' are a shade easier, according -to the weekly report received by the New Zealand Meat Producers' Board. On the mutton market trade remains, depressed, and values of wethers and lightweight ewes are again easier. The .chilled bejef^market is, firmer owing to,-:the cblo. .weather mcreaSing- the;*, demand. Light and. medium weight New Zealand porker pigs are easier on the slow demand. Baconers are firmer on the better Continental bacon 'prices. The board advises that the following are the ruling. prices of wholesale quantities of the descriptions of frozen meat mentioned, and are for representative parcels of the goods sold on Thursday. Chilled beef prices are averages of the week. All prices are on the basis of delivered to Smithfield market. New Zealand'and Australian frozen beef prices are for second quality. Prices for the previous week are given in parentheses:— New Zealand - Sheep.—Crossbred wethers and/or maiden ewes, 48/under 4 5-8d a lb C4|d), 49/56 3|d (3 7-8d), 57/64 3fd (3 7-8d), 65/72 3£d (3 7-8d): ewes,. 48/under 2 7-8d (3d), 49/56 2|d (2|d), 57/64 2£d (2Jd), 65/72 2 3-8d (2- 3-8d).
