In the Hawke Cup elimination cricket match, Nelson y. Manawatu. Nelson had lost nine wickets' for 190 runs at lunch. Pritchard secured the hat trick, taking the seventh, eighth, and ninth wickets. Two batsmen were clean-bowled.
