MYSTERY OF THE SEA

LOSS OF GERMAN SHIP

(Received January 21, 10 a.m.) HAMBURG, January 20. . The inquiry into the disappearance of the German ship Admiral Karpfanger found that the ship was a total loss, there being >no explanation of the cause.

A cablegram from Buenos Aires on October 8 stated that the Ministry of Marine had announced that a wreck found on the southern Argentine coast was believed to be that of the German ship Admiral Karpfanger. The Ham-burg-Amerika Line vessel of that name, laden with wheat, from Port Germein, South Australia, was last reported off Cape Horn, and anxiety was felt for her at the end of last June.
