Sir Wilson Hungerford, Chief Unionist Agent in Northern Ireland, stated that 'ie would not.be surprised if there were more bomb outrages throughout Britain. He expressed the belief that the interning of 34 leaders of the; Irish Republican Army in December saved Ulster from a major catastrophe. The incidents in England proved that the organisation's activities were wide--spread. - ■■]'■.[ The Joint Secretary of the Ulster Unionist Council, Sir Dawson Bates, visited the Home Office and discussed bomb incidents. He was provided with a bodyguard while in Lqndon.
