SOAP FROM COAL

German scientists have now succeed-

Ed in producing' soap from coal. Since 1921 they have been experimenting in an attempt to obtain a fat-containing substance by synthetically combining paraffin with certain oxides. Such a soap wsis eventually produced in 1928. Now that a way has been found to extract large quantities of paraffin from liquid carbon, scientists announce that a wholesome and useful soap for cleaning and for toilet purposes can be manufactured from ordinary coal.
