TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIPS

Some interesting play should be seen in the Wellington lawn tennis championships which commence at Miramar at 9 a.m. tomorrow and continue until next Wednesday. The draw for the first round (already published) indicates that many of the opening matches will be keen tussles. Interest is added by the visit of the two Australian women, Misses M. Harcfcastle and T. Rice, who are competing here and at the New Zealand tournament at Christchurch. Miss Hardcastle is ranked sixth in Australia and has had wins over a number of notable players, while Miss Rice, a New South Wales representative, is ranked sixth in the State.
