COMMANDER'S PARTY

R.N.V.R. OFFICERS ENTER-

TAINED

Commander 5. E. Taylor, R.N.V.R., gave a most enjoyable sherry party recently for officers of the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve. Hydrangeas in pastel shades decorated the lounge of the Commander's home in Clifton Terrace, where the party was given, and Iceland poppies made a gay splash of colour in the dining-room, where a savoury supper was served.

Mrs. Taylor, who received the guests with her husband, was in a smart hostess frock off navy sheer with which she wore a contrasting shoulder spray of scarlet flowers. Miss Mary and Miss Irene Taylor helped their brother and sister-in-law to entertain the guests:

Those present were Captain E. Grave Morris, R.N., Lieutenant-Commander J. Smythe, Lieutenant P. Phipps, Lieutenant W. Olphert, Miss Joan Glendinhing, Miss Heather Horax, Lieutenant E. Browne, Lieutenant W. Poole and Miss Poole, Surgeon-Lieutenant L Ewart, Lieutenant J. Stephenson, Pay-master-Lieutenant K. Buck, Paymaster-

Sublieutenant Davies, Sub-Lieutenant Brackeneidge, Sub-Lieutenant B. Giles and Mrs. Giles, Miss Jackson, Miss Frame, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Allen, Miss Margaret Mclvor, Lieutenant S. Gray and Mrs. Gray, and the Rev. Gordon Mackenzie.
