THE PRIME MINISTER

COLLEAGUES' TRIBUTE

In appreciation of his comradely qualities and his work as Leader of the Government, members of Cabinet met the Prime Minister (the Rt. Hon. M. J. Savage) yesterday and presented him with a set of crystal. His colleagues assured Mr. Savage that the responsibilities of offi c were made easier by reason of his pleasing personality and sound judgment, and his determination to look after the interests of the people. It was, they said, a pleasure to serve under him.

The presentation was made by the Deputy Leader (the Hon. P. Fraser), who said that the gift symbolised the good will that Ministers felt towards Mr. Savage.

The Prime Minister expressed his keen appreciation of the gift, and said that no one could asl. for more loyal colleagues. His task was made easier by reason of their help and encouragement.
