ESPERANTO CLUB
An enjoyable social and: dance was held at the rooms of the Wellington Esperanto Club on Monday as a culmination of the year's activities. The president, Mr. Hornblow,. presented diplomas to those successful in the recent club'examination arid; thanked the many present for their activity, throughout the year. Mr. W. H. Tooley, a visiting Esperantist from Christchufch, conveyed his club's greetings in the international language, which, he said, was the language of PeTwo songs by Mrs. Walker, "Mattinata" and "Only a Rose," were, warmly received. Mr. Vella, an outstanding player of the xylophone, played "Dream Ship" and "Red Hearts. Mr F Bailey, club treasurer, asked the members to keep in mind the dates of the New Zealand congress, which is to take place in Wellington on December 31 and Jianuary 1 and 2. Community singing conducted by Mr. Wally Longhurst was enjoyed between dances. The 1939 season will commence on February 6. '
