CHEISTCHURCH, November 36. There was a general easing in values, of fat stock- at the weekly market at Addington today. Fat sheep and ewes' came down to a price approaching, North Island export values, out wethers were still substantially in1 advance of that leveL The store sheep, yarding was considerably smaller .tiian | last week and comprised mainly wethers. Wethers and hoggets top the fair and in this class young adult wethers made up to 17s for a one-truck lot. Other young wethers made' from 14a Id, wither hoggets to 14s Id, others selling from 8s lOd. The .quality of the spring lambs was on: the whole'fairly good and best prime medium-weights made to B|d a lb, - t other lambs from Bd.

The fat sheep entry was slightly less than 50Q0, as against 6000 penned last week, and on the average wethers were down by Is to Is 6d a head, with: medium ewes practically the same.i Heavy ewes were not wanted and" were easier than at recent sales by more than 2s a head. Export rates announced in the .North Island had a somewhat depressing effect on ewe prices bat did aiot affect wether values very much. Prices were:—Extra prime heavy wethers made to 27s lOd; prime heavy, 19s 6d to 235; prime medium, 17s 8d to 19s; light, to 14s 9d; extra prime ewes, to 20s; prime,' 16s to 18s 6d; primel medium, 14s to 15s 6d; light, to IDs. In the fat cattle section about 450 head were yarded, as against 530 last week. Middleweight steers eased by about 10s, but for heavy steers and inferior classes the decline was more: pronounced. Though the market for beef was well sustained, the yarding was too. heavy for a sale at this period of the year, and in the circumstances the demand must be considered satis-' factory. A good deal of quality beef: sold at under 40s a lOGlfo. 1

Prices were:—Extra prime heavy steers made to £17 2s 6d; prime heavy, £15 5s to £16 10s; prime medium, £14 5s to £15 10s; light, to £10 10s; extra prime heifers, to £14 7s 6d; prime, £10 10s to £12; medium £9 to £10 ss; light to £8 15s; extra prime heavy cows, to £13 12s 8d; prime heavy, to £9 lls lOd; medium, £7 5s to £8 15s; light, to £7.

The porker entry and fat pig seclion were about the same as'last week, but prices were easier all round by about 2s to 3s a head. Baconers came forward in much smaller numbers and easer by about 5s a head. Choppers were in fairly heavy supply, but prices were on a par with last week.

Prices were: Choppers made £2 10s to £5 8s €d; porkers, £1 17s 6d to £2 19s 6d; average price a lb was 6&d to 7d; baconers made £2 17s 6d to £4 14s 6d; average price a lb was 6id to 6^d.
